While Costa Rica does have some poisonous varieties of snakes and insects it is a rare occurrence for a person to be bit by them. I’ve been there many times and have never had a problem and I love the wilderness. I recommend wearing hiking boots/all terrain sneakers and socks when hiking around. [...]
